Badrinath Tour Package Itinerary from Haridwar – 4 Days / 3 Nights

Your Badrinath Yatra begins with an early morning pickup from your hotel, railway station, bus stand or another agreed location in Haridwar. Drive towards Pipalkoti through Rishikesh, Devprayag, Srinagar, Rudraprayag, Karnaprayag and Nandprayag, following the scenic Alaknanda River valley.

At Devprayag, see the sacred confluence where the Bhagirathi and Alaknanda rivers meet and flow onward as the River Ganga. Continue through Srinagar before reaching Rudraprayag, where the Mandakini River meets the Alaknanda River.

The journey then passes through Karnaprayag, associated with the confluence of the Alaknanda and Pindar rivers, followed by Nandprayag, where the Alaknanda meets the Nandakini River.

After reaching Pipalkoti, check into your hotel, have dinner and rest. This overnight halt helps break the long mountain journey and prepares you for the higher altitude of Badrinath on the following day.

If time and daylight permit, short stops can be taken at selected river confluences and viewpoints along the route. Avoid spending too much time at any single stop, as mountain traffic and road conditions can make the journey longer than expected.

💡 Tip: Leave Haridwar between 6:00 and 7:00 AM. Carry some light snacks and water, but avoid heavy meals during the mountain drive if you are prone to motion sickness.

After breakfast, check out from the hotel and begin the journey towards Badrinath. The road continues through Chamoli, Helang and Jyotirmath, also commonly known as Joshimath.

Jyotirmath is an important spiritual town and the winter seat associated with Lord Badrinath. If time and road conditions permit, you may visit the Narsingh Temple, which holds religious importance in the Badrinath tradition.

Continue towards Badrinath through Vishnuprayag, where the Alaknanda and Dhauliganga rivers meet. The route then passes through Govindghat, the starting point for the Valley of Flowers and Hemkund Sahib journeys, followed by Pandukeshwar and Hanuman Chatti.

Reach Badrinath and check into your pre-booked hotel. Take some time to rest and adjust to the higher altitude before beginning local sightseeing.

Visit Tapt Kund, the natural warm-water spring situated close to the temple. Pilgrims traditionally take a holy dip here before proceeding for darshan. You may also visit Brahma Kapal, a sacred site beside the Alaknanda River where ancestral rituals are performed.

Wake up early for morning darshan at Badrinath Temple. The temple area is generally calmer during the early hours, although actual crowd levels and darshan arrangements can vary.

After darshan, return to the hotel for breakfast and check out. Drive approximately 3 km to Mana Village, a scenic Himalayan village situated near the India–Tibet border.

At Mana Village, visit Vyas Gufa, where Maharishi Ved Vyasa is traditionally believed to have composed the Mahabharata. Nearby is Ganesh Gufa, associated with Lord Ganesha writing the epic as it was narrated by Ved Vyasa.

Continue towards Bheem Pul, a natural rock bridge over the Saraswati River. According to Hindu tradition, Bhima placed the large stone across the river to help Draupadi cross during the Pandavas’ final journey.

Spend some time exploring the village and enjoying views of the Saraswati River and surrounding Himalayan mountains. The visit depends on weather, road conditions, local restrictions and available daylight.

After completing the sightseeing, begin the return journey towards Rudraprayag through Badrinath, Pandukeshwar, Govindghat, Jyotirmath, Pipalkoti, Chamoli, Nandprayag and Karnaprayag.

Reach Rudraprayag by evening, check into your hotel and rest after the long mountain drive. Dinner and overnight stay at Rudraprayag.

💡 Tip: Start Mana Village sightseeing early and keep the visit properly timed. The drive to Rudraprayag is long, and reaching the hotel before dark is more comfortable and practical.

After breakfast, check out from the hotel and begin the return journey towards Haridwar.

If time and route conditions permit, visit Dhari Devi Temple, situated beside the Alaknanda River between Rudraprayag and Srinagar. The temple is dedicated to Goddess Dhari Devi and is regarded as an important guardian deity of Uttarakhand.

Continue through Srinagar and reach Devprayag. If the confluence was not covered on the first day, stop here to see the meeting point of the Bhagirathi and Alaknanda rivers.

Proceed towards Rishikesh through the lower Himalayan road. Depending on the agreed schedule and available time, a short stop may be taken in Rishikesh before continuing to Haridwar.

Reach Haridwar by evening and receive your drop at the railway station, bus stand, hotel or another previously agreed location. Your Badrinath tour package concludes with the blessings of Lord Badrinarayan and memories of the sacred Himalayan journey.

Places to Cover During Badrinath Yatra

Shri Badrinath Temple

The main shrine is dedicated to Lord Vishnu as Badrinarayan. Temple access, darshan hours and ritual bookings are managed according to official schedules and local arrangements.

Tapt Kund

Tapt Kund is a natural warm-water spring near the temple. Many pilgrims traditionally bathe here before darshan. Visitors should follow local safety instructions and assess whether the water temperature is suitable for them.

Brahma Kapal

Brahma Kapal is a sacred place on the Alaknanda River where pilgrims perform rituals for ancestors. Puja arrangements and payments are separate from the tour package unless specifically confirmed. Priest fees for pind daan and tarpan rituals are typically paid directly and can vary by ritual, so confirm the approximate range with your priest before starting.

Mana Village

Mana is located a short drive from Badrinath and is known for its Himalayan landscape and local culture. Popular points include Vyas Gufa, Ganesh Gufa, Bheem Pul and the Saraswati River area. Access may be limited by weather or local instructions.

Panch Prayag

Vasudhara Falls

A 145-metre waterfall about 9 km from Badrinath — 3 km by road to Mana, then a roughly 6 km trek. This is optional and only worth adding if you have the time and fitness for it; it's not part of the standard itinerary.

Dhari Devi Temple

Dhari Devi Temple is an important spiritual stop on the Badrinath route, situated beside the Alaknanda River between Srinagar and Rudraprayag. Dedicated to Goddess Dhari Devi, the temple is traditionally regarded as a guardian shrine of Uttarakhand. Is Trekking Required for Badrinath Yatra?

Unlike Kedarnath, no long trek is required to reach Badrinath Temple. Badrinath town is connected by a motorable road, and vehicles can reach the main town area.

However, travellers should be prepared for short walks, temple steps, uneven surfaces and crowded pathways. Senior citizens and travellers with mobility concerns should request a conveniently located hotel and additional assistance in advance.

Optional Vasudhara Falls Trek

Travellers with sufficient time and physical fitness may add the Vasudhara Falls trek after visiting Mana Village. The waterfall is reached through a mountain trail beyond Mana and is not included in the standard 4-day Badrinath itinerary.

This optional trek requires additional time and should be attempted only when the weather, trail conditions and available daylight are suitable. Adding an extra night in Badrinath is recommended instead of trying to complete the trek within the regular itinerary.

By Road

Badrinath is connected by road through Rishikesh, Devprayag, Rudraprayag, Karnaprayag, Nandprayag and Jyoshimath. The route is mountainous, and journey times can change significantly because of traffic, weather, road work and temporary restrictions.

By Train

Haridwar and Yog Nagari Rishikesh are the practical railheads for the journey. Haridwar generally offers wider train connectivity; the onward trip to Badrinath is completed by road.

By Air

Jolly Grant Airport near Dehradun is the closest commercial airport commonly used for this route. Travellers continue by road through Rishikesh.

Badrinath Temple opened for devotees on 23 April 2026 at 6:15 AM. Pilgrims can now visit the sacred shrine and seek the blessings of Lord Badri Vishal. The opening date and time were traditionally announced at the Tehri Raj Darbar on the occasion of Basant Panchami.

When Will Badrinath Temple Close in 2026?

The tentative closing date of Badrinath Temple is 13 November 2026. The temple is expected to close for the winter season following traditional rituals.
