Terms & Conditions for Chaukhamba Travels
1. Booking Confirmation
- A minimum of 25% advance payment is required to confirm the booking. The remaining payment schedule is as follows:
- 25% upon issuance of hotel vouchers.
- 50% due 2 days prior to travel date.
2. Cancellations & Refunds
- Cancellation charges apply as per hotel, transport, or activity providers.
- Chaukhamba Travels will deduct a service fee of ₹1,000 (or 10%) per person (whichever is higher) on all refundable cancellations.
- No refund will be provided for last-minute cancellations (within 48 hours of travel) or no-shows.
3. Changes & Amendments
- Any changes in itinerary, dates, or services requested after confirmation may incur additional charges and are subject to availability.
- Chaukhamba Travels is not responsible for delays due to natural disasters, roadblocks, strikes, or unforeseen situations.
4. Liability Disclaimer
- Chaukhamba Travels acts only as a coordinator between customer and service providers (hotels, transport, etc.).
- We are not liable for any loss, damage, accident, injury, or delay due to third-party service failures or unavoidable circumstances.
5. Check-In/Check-Out Policy
- Hotel check-in and check-out as per hotel policy (mostly 12 PM check-in, 11 AM check-out). Early check-in/late check-out may cost extra and depends on availability.
6. Travel Documents
- Carry valid ID proof (Aadhaar, PAN, Passport). For flight or train journeys, valid government ID is mandatory.
- Chaukhamba Travels is not responsible for denied boarding due to incorrect/incomplete documents.
7. Transport
- Vehicles will be provided as per the itinerary only and not for unlimited use.
- Driver details will be shared 1 day before travel. No requests for specific drivers/vehicles will be entertained.
8. Health & Safety
- It is the traveler’s responsibility to ensure they are medically fit to travel.
- Inform the agency in advance about any medical conditions, allergies, or special needs.
9. Misbehavior Clause
- Any misbehavior, abusive language, or disrespectful conduct toward Chaukhamba Travels staff, drivers, hotel partners, or fellow travelers will lead to immediate cancellation of services without any refund. Legal action may be taken if required.
10. Jurisdiction
- All disputes are subject to Rudraprayag District Court (Uttarakhand) jurisdiction only.
