Brahmatal Trek Itinerary

Day 1 Dehradun / Kathgodam to Lohajung (7,600ft.) Drive Day
• Start early from Dehradun or Kathgodam and drive to Lohajung, a beautiful Himalayan village and base camp for the Brahmatal trek.
• Cover approximately 290–300 km by road in about 8–10 hours, passing through mountain roads, rivers, and charming hill towns.
• Check into your guesthouse/homestay, attend a short briefing, acclimatise, and rest for the night.
Day 2 Lohajung to Bekaltal (9,689 ft.) 6 km | 5–6 hrs
• After breakfast, begin trekking from Lohajung towards Bekaltal through dense oak and rhododendron forests and small village trails.
• Trek around 7–8 km in 5–6 hours, gaining gradual altitude until you reach the serene Bekaltal campsite near the lake.
• Enjoy an evening acclimatisation walk, hot meals, and an overnight stay in tents at Bekaltal.
Dav 3 Bekaltal to Brahmatal Lake (10,440 ft.) 7 km | 6–7 hrs
• Start with a steady ascent from Bekaltal, moving above dense forest sections into more open ridges with expanding mountain views.
• Cover approximately 6–7 km in 4–5 hours to reach Brahmatal Lake, set amidst snowfields in winter and overlooking Himalayan peaks like Trishul and Nanda Ghunti.
• Settle at the Brahmatal campsite, explore the lake area, and rest early for the summit push next day.
Day 4 Brahmatal Lake – Brahmatal Top (12,200 ft) – Daldam 6 km | 6–7 hrs
• Begin the summit day early, trekking from Brahmatal Lake towards Brahmatal Top via ridges that offer panoramic views of Trishul, Nanda Ghunti, and the surrounding ranges.
• Trek roughly 10–12 km over 7–8 hours, first ascending to about 12,200 ft at the top and then descending through meadows and forest sections to reach Daldam campsite.
• Enjoy the last night of camping at Daldam with a warm dinner and trek closing briefing.
Day 5 Daldam to Roadhead – Drive to Rishikesh / Kathgodam 7 km | 5–6 hrs
• Trek approximately 5–6 km from Daldam down to the roadhead near Lohajung, descending through forest trails and village paths.
• From the roadhead, drive around 210–260 km to Rishikesh or about 210–220 km towards Kathgodam, which usually takes 6–8 hours depending on road and traffic conditions.
• Trip ends on arrival; participants can proceed with onward journeys by bus, train, or flight from Rishikesh/Haridwar or Kathgodam/Haldwani.
