Badrinath Dham Yatra is considered one of the most sacred pilgrimages in Hinduism. Located in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand, it is among the four holy shrines of the Char Dham Yatra.

Dedicated to Lord Vishnu, the Badrinath Temple stands gracefully on the banks of the Alaknanda River, surrounded by the Nar and Narayan mountain ranges. Every year, millions of devotees visit to seek blessings and spiritual peace.

Where is Badrinath Located?

Badrinath Temple is situated at an altitude of 3,133 meters (10,279 ft) in the Garhwal Himalayas. The route offers breathtaking views of snow-covered mountains, green valleys, and sacred rivers.

Badrinath Temple Significance

According to Hindu mythology, Lord Vishnu meditated here under the Badri tree, from which the temple gets its name. Badrinath is also one of the 108 Divya Desams, making it highly sacred for Vaishnav devotees.

Best Time to Visit Badrinath

  • May – June (Pleasant weather)

The temple remains open from April/May to October/November every year.
